Since they finally received the massive DLC announcement they’d all been craving, Elden Ring players have all been basking in the warm glow of knowing that the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is definitely on its way.
For those keen to keep on honing their boss-slaying skills so they’re primed and ready to start carving their way through the DLC as soon as it drops, there are plenty of mods that can help to switch up your next trip through the Lands Between, in order to make things a bit more interesting.
On the other hand, if you’re in the mood to watch someone else have a go at the game in an unorthodox manner and have already seen the Bop-It, one finger and mind-controlled challenge runs through the game, you might want to check out Luality’s latest battle with its most infamous boss.
Do you think you’d stand a chance of defeating Elden Ring’s Malenia via an intense physical workout?
The streamer, who’s previously taken on the terrors of the Lands Between using a drawing pad, has been working on this latest unconventional playthrough, which sees them use motion controls to direct her character using body movements, for a little while now.
Since besting early-game boss Morgott back in late February, Luality’s dipped back into the run on a semi-regular basis over the past couple of months, reaching the battle with Malenia by late March and dedicating several streams to sparring with the blade of Miqella.
While these attempts didn’t yield the success they were hoping for, the streamer finally managed to achieve it during their latest broadcast, grappling with Malenia on and off for around five and a half hours before landing the killing blow, which you can check out in the clip below.
As you can see, they were pretty elated to have finally achieved an incredibly hard-earned victory, sinking to their knees and shedding a few tears of joy, before sarcastically declaring: “First try, easy! No deaths!”.
While no one would hold it against Luality for taking a bit of a break from Elden Ring after finally earning this massive triumph, another of the game’s most tenacious challenge runners, Missmikkaa, has spent their first stream post finishing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor practising for a no death run through the game using a dance pad.
So, definitely make sure to follow us for updates on that seemingly imminent tough tour of the Lands Between and stay tuned for more coverage of some interesting streamers and guides to Shadow of the Erdtree as soon as it arrives.
