It was all down to this. Ten weeks of fierce competition left two teams standing for a chance to become Elite Series champion for Street Fighter V. Let’s recap all the action.
Kicking off the series would be Brian from excel taking on TKR from Team EnVyUs. TKR managed to draw first blood in a close first round before seizing the opportunity in the second to take the opening game for the boys in blue. Next up, Hurricane would battle it out against Nassim-Claw. Nassim-Claw closed out the game in the third and final round after a very back and forth contest between the two players. EnVyUs now had a 2-0 lead in the series. Could excel respond?
Infexious would face Layo in game three. Another close game but Infexious was able to secure a much-needed win for his exceL team, closing the gap to 2-1. Game four would see Brian return for his second game of the series where he would battle Layo. The monetum looked to be in favour of EnVyUs. Layo managed to redeem himself after his earler loss, taking the game and moving the boys in blue to match point.
Excel had it all to do. Infexious was back to take on an in form TKR. A great comeback from Infexious secured the first round before a much closer game went in favour of the exceL player to keep his team alive in the series. The pressure was building on Team EnVyUs as exceL began to make a comeback. Bryan would face Nassim Claw. A win for Brian would force a game seven decider. An insane comeback saw Brian grab the opening round before closing out the game in the second. A game seven would decide who would become champion.
Hurricane would go against TKR in a huge final game of the Elite Series. Hurricane grabbed the first round before TKR immediately responded in the second to take the final game to the final round. Hurricane managed to close out a highly contested round, completing an incredible comeback from Excel.
Ten weeks of incredible Street Fighter action have come to an end. Congratulations to exceL on becoming Elite Series champions. Bring on Season Two!
