Elon Musk is among the most influential individuals in the cryptocurrency space, having boosted the likes of Dogecoin, SHIB and Floki Inu with just a simple tweet, but does he own any NFTs?

Musk's cryptocurrency holdings are well documented at this point, as is his fondness for DOGE. But with interest in NFTs catching up with that of crypto, generating $22bn in revenue this year, has Musk jumped into the NFT space?

Here's what you need to know about Elon Musk and NFTs.

Does Elon Musk Own Any NFTs?

Elon Musk has not publicly revealed any NFTs he currently holds, but this doesn't mean he isn't involved in NFTs.

In March 2021, the Tesla CEO posted a tweet announcing he would sell a Techno song as an NFT, sparking a massive community reaction and prompting bids (serious or not) of up to $1bn.

However, he then got cold feet. Musk withdrew the NFT proposal, stating it "doesn’t feel quite right selling this".

Aside from this, Musk can frequently be seen making jokes about NFTs on Twitter. In mid-December, Musk mocked NFTs through a meme on Twitter, garnering criticism for referring to it as a mental illness.

He later responded to Doge's founder Billy Markus's tweet underlining scams in the crypto industry by referring to NFTs as something that is "jpeging the dollar"

Elon musk ramped up his trolling game earlier when he uploaded a picture of BAYC NFT collage as his profile picture on Twitter. Musk who is known as a staunch NFT antagonist , had earlier declared his dissatisfaction against NFTs by describing the Twitter NFT profile picture move as "annoying."

It is difficult to decipher the thoughts of the SpaceX CEO, however, so we can't rule anything out just yet.

Indeed, while Musk may not like NFTs, NFTs certainly like him. A quick search on OpenSea for 'Elon Musk' reveals 392,824 items relating to him.

However, with one Dogecoin developer creating an NFT on the DOGE blockchain, maybe Musk will finally jump into NFTs.
