How to save in Fae Farm
To manually save your progress in Fae Farm, you just need to open up the in-game menu shown in the bottom-left of the screen.
In this menu, just look for the little quill and ink icon. It should be second from the bottom above the ‘Quit to title’ option.
Pressing that will trigger the auto-save. You should notice a little hitch or pause and the running chickoo icon animation in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Once that disappears, your Fae Farm progress will have been saved. There’s no notice or message for it: just trust the Chickoo
How does auto-save work in Fae Farm?
Though Fae Farm will let you know that it uses an auto-save system, it isn’t one you’ll want to rely on. It’s more of a failsafe.
That’s because the Fae Farm auto-save feature mostly tracks days rather than individual actions. It auto-saves at the beginning of each day as the previous day’s results screen plays out.
Once you agree to progress to the next day, you won’t be able to go back — the auto save will trigger there.
That means returning to the main menu or closing the game in the middle of a day will likely revert you back to the beginning of that day.
Any crops you watered or harvested will return to the state they were in at the beginning of the day. Likewise, turning in items for a job quest or similar activity will be returned and the quest will remain incomplete. You’re essentially turning back time.
