Activision released some great Transformers games during the sixth generation of gaming and it looks like they’re making an overdue comeback. While an official announcement hasn’t been made yet, there were hints that these games would get a re-release after the Microsoft acquisition.

This Twitter post from TFHypeGuy reveals that some of the beloved Cybertron games might be getting relisted on Xbox and Steam. Currently, these games aren’t available for purchase, but the fact that their details are up does make us excited for their future.

Both of the Transformers Cybertron games are considered some of the best in this franchise, since they really dive deep into these characters. It also helps that the gameplay is pretty good, as the devs at High Moon were able to nail the third-person shooting really well.

While most of the conversation is surrounding the Cybertron games, we hope that the underrated Transformers: Devastation is also getting re-released. Developed by PlatinumGames, this title feels like Bayonetta with the Autobots, which is a massive compliment. The fact this game has combos where these characters ram into you in their vehicle form is just too good.

Activision Blizzard stopped producing licensed games awhile ago, which is why a lot of their Marvel and Transformers games are hard to get these days. Microsoft has since purchased Activision and there were some hints teasing that these titles could return.

It’s been a good while since we’ve seen a great game with the Autobots and Decepticons, with recent releases not really setting the world on fire. Hopefully, if these re-releases become official, they pave the way for more quality games down the line.

Only time will tell if we get to see these beloved Transformers games on modern systems again. They still look pretty good to this day and should be able to run on most consoles, even the Switch.
