How to get the Bold and the Braid hairstyle in Final Fantasy XIV

To unlock the new Bold and the Braid hairstyle in Final Fantasy XIV, you just need nine Aloalo Potsherds.

With those in hand, take them to the vendor around the entrance of the dungeon to exchange them for the Bold and the Braid hairstyle. Use the hairstyle from your inventory to unlock it permanently on your character.

From that point on, you'll be able to apply the hairstyle via the Aesthetician for a fixed Gil price. You can find the Aesthetician by ringing the stripped bell in any inn room. These can be placed in player-owned houses, too, so look to your own, a friend's, or your Free Company's space for one, too.

How to unlock Aloalo Island in FFXIV

Of course, to unlock the FFXIV 6.51 hairstyle, you first need to unlock Aloalo Island. This can be managed by speaking to Shallow Moor at the Old Sharlayan coordinates X:12.0 and Y:13.3.

You'll need to have completed A Satrap's Duty via the MSQ to see the quest, which will be called "Stranger in Paradise" – a likely nod to the spin-off Final Fantasy game Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.
