FIFA 21 Headliners: Team 1 Best Investments, Fixture List And Potential Upgrades

Headliners have been released into FIFA 21 Ultimate Team, with the first team of players available in packs until Friday 7th January, focusing on players that have written their names into the headlines over the first part of the season thanks to their incredible form, glimpses of potential under a new manager, operating in a new system or position, or a return from the treatment table.

Being dynamic cards that upgrade throughout the year, staying one upgrade above the next highest performance-based in-form (TOTW, MOTM, Hero or Team of the Group Stage) for the remainder of the season.

One of the big additions to Headliner cards, however, is the fact that there is the opportunity for an additional one-time permanent upgrade if their club achieves four back to back wins during the remainder of the domestic league season. If this occurs, the Headliner version will then be 2 in-form upgrades ahead of the next highest performance-based in-form card!

With these upgrades on the line, let’s take a look at the upcoming fixtures for all Headliners cards available, and see who may be in the running for the additional Headliner upgrade!

Bruno Fernandes is the highest rated player in Headliners Team 1, and valued currently at close to 2 million coins, is one of the most hyped cards in FUT at the moment!

It’s worth noting that Manchester United have already won the first of the 4 games needed to receive an upgrade, winning 2-1 against Aston Villa a few hours after his Headliners card was released.

With Manchester United going away to Anfield on the 17th, given Liverpool’s unbeaten Premier League run at home of nearly 4 years, it’s hard to see them securing a much needed win to give Bruno an upgrade. Perhaps look to the future for greater potential for an upgrade here!

Fabinho - 88 CB - Liverpool

Fabinho has had an impressive start to the season, filling in at CB given Liverpool’s lengthy injury list, and has been rewarded with a Headliner card!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Fabinho’s Headliner journey kicks off with a Monday night fixture away at Southampton, who have been a very difficult team to break down of late, conceding only twice in their last 5 Premier League games. Stiff opposition from both Manchester United and Spurs may prove to be difficult challenges given Liverpool’s recent dropped points to West Brom and Newcastle.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic - 88 CM - Lazio - SBC

SMS is our first big Headliner SBC, and you can view all his SBC requirements, information and solutions here.

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Lazio have unfortunately been the kings of inconsistency in Serie A so far this season, with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses in their last 6 games alone. Unless they can turn things around and go on a run in 2021, we aren’t going to be expecting too much in terms of upgrades very soon, especially seeing as they play 3 teams in the top 7 in their next 5 matches.

Wissam Ben Yedder - 87 ST - AS Monaco

The king Yedder is back for FIFA 21, with a Headliner card to acknowledge his strong goalscoring form for Monaco so far this season.

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Monaco are certainly a team capable of going on a run in Ligue 1, they’ve already gone on a 4 win streak over November, however that was followed up with 3 successive losses. We’ll have to wait and see if Wissam and co can go on a similar run of form in 2021!

Wilfried Zaha - 87 ST - Crystal Palace

It’s quite simple really, without Wilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace would likely be a very different side. His goal threat has been a determining factor for them so far this season, a very well warranted Headliner card!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Sitting down in 14th currently, it’s hard to see Crystal Palace going on a 4 game winning streak any time soon, seeing as they’ve only won 6 out of 17 games so far this season. Nevertheless, Zaha’s goalscoring record and multiple TOTW worthy performances could still result in personal performance-based upgrades.

Mikel Oyarzabal - 87 LW - Real Sociedad

Oyarzabal currently has 10 goal contributions in La Liga for Real Sociedad, and has been their standout player.

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

With 1 win in their last 8 La Liga matches, Sociedad aren’t in the greatest form, despite going on a 6 game winning streak over the October to November period. A couple of tough upcoming fixtures against Sevilla and Villarreal may halt their progress for successive wins, but still keep an eye on the Spaniards.

Joao Felix - 86 CF - Atletico Madrid

The 21 year old has had somewhat of a breakout at Atletico Madrid this season, consistently getting on the scoresheet and having a big influence in matches, he’s already picked up 3 MOTM awards!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

If there’s any team that you’d bank on winning 4 domestic league games in a row, it’s Atletico Madrid at the moment. The tricky to beat team have lost only once in La Liga this season, are currently on a 4 game win streak, including 1 game that will count (2-1 win over Alaves on Jan 3rd) and have 12/15 wins in the league this season.

Jonathan Bamba - 86 LM - LOSC Lille

11 goal contributions and 3 MOTM awards for Bamba, including 2 IFs and a POTM in FUT have been more than enough to earn him a FUT Headliners item!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Lille currently sit 2nd in Ligue 1, joint top on points with league leaders Lyon, and have been in fine form recently, winning 4 of their last 6 matches before the Christmas break. Facing 4 teams that are 9th or below in their next 5 may present good opportunities for a winning streak, however 4th place Rennes who are on a fine winning streak themselves may present a bump in the road.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan - 86 CF - AS Roma

The Armenian has been at the heart of most things positive for Roma this season, with 13 goal contributions from his attacking midfield role in the league so far this season.

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Roma already have 1 win under their belt for the streak, beating Sampdoria 1-0 on Jan 3rd, however, they face both Inter and Lazio in the next 3 gameweeks, who are more than capable of throwing a spanner in the works.

Lukas Hradecky - 86 GK - Bayer Leverkusen

Easily the cheapest Headliner card out at the moment, there’s not too much hype for Hradecky and potential upgrades, but we’ll cover him all the same!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Bayer Leverkusen sure have a tough run of games over the coming weeks, as they play 4 of the top 6 after their game against struggling Werder Bremen. It’s hard to see them putting together a winning run given the competition, so we’re not predicting an upgrade for the Finland GK any time soon.

Martin Hinteregger - 85 CB - Frankfurt

Hinteregger receives a pretty well rounded CB Headliner card, however will remain as a pretty cheap, underused option until he receives a few more upgrades we think!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Frankfurt already have 1 win towards their 4 consecutive needed for an upgrade after securing a 2-1 home win over Hradecky’s Leverkusen on Saturday January 2nd. Aside from that, their next few games look pretty comfortable, facing the 3 bottom teams in the next 4 weeks. We fancy Frankfurt’s chances if they can keep up their recent winning ways!

Jordan Amavi - 84 LB - Marseille

Amavi’s Headliner item is definitely one to keep an eye out for in Ligue 1, with big upgrade potential!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Despite Marseille going on a 6 game winning streak from late October to mid-December, they’re without a win in their last 3 games. They have some favourable upcoming fixtures, however, facing the 2 bottom teams in Dijon and Nimes in the next 3 gameweeks, so anything is possible!

Matheus Cunha - 84 CAM - Hertha Berlin - Objective

Matheus Cunha has been Hertha Berlin’s main source of goals in the Bundesliga this season, with 8 goal contributions and 3 MOTM awards for the Brazilian, who’s available in objectives!

Upcoming Fixtures

Here are his upcoming domestic fixtures from January 4th onwards!

Hertha already have 1 game in their win streak after a comprehensive 3-0 home win over Schalke on January 2nd, and with the current 16th, 15th, 13th and 14th placed teams coming up in the next 4 gameweeks, there’s a high chance that they can get the job done and get an extra upgrade for Matheus Cunha’s Headliner Objective card!
