Lucio - CB

In the 2000’s, there’s no doubt that Lucio was one of the top centre-halves in World Football. With 3 Bundesliga titles in 4 seasons with Bayern Munich and had an impressive career in Italy, Lucio was a tall, physically strong defender who was known for his aerial prowess.
For those that played earlier editions of FIFA Ultimate Team, they’ll remember his linkup at the back with the likes of Maicon and Walter Samuel in a treble-winning Inter Milan side in the 2009-10 Season.
Lucio would be a brilliant Brazilian option to have at the back, and is certainly on our icon wishlist for FIFA 21 Ultimate Team!
Dida - GK
Top Teams: AC MilanCareer Apps: 516Career Clean Sheets: 222Top Club Honours: 1x Serie A, 1x Coppa Italia, 2x UEFA Champions League, 2x UEFA Super Cup, 1x FIFA Club World CupInternational Honours: 1x FIFA World Cup, 2x FIFA Confederations Cup, 1x Copa America
Dida is remembered as one of the top Brazilian goalkeepers of all time and is best remembered for his successful ten-year stint with AC Milan from 2000-2010.
Being highly ranked worldwide for the majority of the ’00s, Dida is the most successful player in the history of the Confederations Cup, being ranked 1st in total appearances with 22, and 1st in total clean sheets with 12.
A glistening career filled with club and international honours, Dida deserves to make it into the Icon class of 21.
Maicon - RB
Top Teams: Inter Milan, Manchester City, RomaCareer Apps: 512Career Goals: 40Top Club Honours: 4x Serie A, 2x Coppa Italia, 1x Champions League, 1x FIFA Club World CupInternational Honours: 2x FIFA Confederations Cup, 2x Copa America
Regarded as one of the most well-rounded, attacking full-backs in recent decades, Maicon Douglas Sisenando would be a fan-favourite icon inclusion in FIFA 21.
With bags of stamina and a massive work-rate, Maicon was one of the most athletic full-backs of his generation, being able to aid the defence, but also attack dangerously down the right-hand side.
It’s no doubt that ‘Il Colosso’ (The Colossus) would make it into plenty of teams should he receive an icon card, we know for sure he’ll be running down the right flank in our teams!
Adriano - ST
Top Teams: Parma, Inter MilanCareer Apps: 348Career Goals: 164Top Club Honours: 4x Serie A, 2x Coppa ItaliaInternational Honours: 1x FIFA Confederations Cup, 1x Copa America
Adriano’s career was one that unfortunately we never really got to see in his full potential for an extended period of time, however, during the mid-2000s, his prime performances certainly earn him the right to be a FIFA 21 icon.
Known for being a powerful, physical striker with a rocket of a left foot, Adriano was tipped to be the long-term successor to Ronaldo. During the 2004/05 season, Adriano enjoyed his best form, scoring 42 goals for club and country.
Being a childhood icon to many, Adriano would be a welcome addition as an icon in FIFA 21, and would be a striker to fear!
Cafu - RWB
Top Teams: Roma, AC MilanCareer Apps: 538Career Goals: 21Top Club Honours: 2x Serie A, 2x Coppa Italia, 1x UEFA Champions League, 1x FIFA Club World Cup, 2x UEFA Super CupInternational Honours: 2x FIFA World Cup, 1x FIFA Confederations Cup, 2x Copa America
Regarded by many as the best right-back in footballing history, Cafu is a player that has to be in the discussion for a spot on the FIFA 21 icon roster.
With 2 World Cups to his name, as well as being the most internationally capped Brazilian player of all time, with 142 appearances, Cafu won almost everything there is to win internationally, as well as domestically with his impressive stints at Roma and AC Milan from 1997 to 2008.
While we already have Carlos Alberto and Roberto Carlos as Brazilian full-back options as icons in FIFA, surely there’s more space for one of the best to step on the pitch!
Zico - CAM
Top Teams: FlamengoCareer Apps: 406Career Goals: 244Top Club Honours: 4x Brazilian Champion, 1x Copa Libertadores Winner
Unknown by a lot of the younger generation, Zico is considered one of the most clinical finishers and best passers of all time, often referred to as the “White Pele.”
Despite playing in one of the greatest Brazilian national teams of all time during the 1978, 1982 and 1986 World Cups, Zico’s international honours are somewhat scarce, however, that can’t take away from his technical ability on the pitch.
With a glittering career in Brazil, Zico is the 5th highest goal scorer for his national team, he’s regarded as one of the best playmakers and free-kick takers in history, something we’d love to utilise in FIFA 21 Ultimate Team!
