Final Fantasy 8 Remastered is available on Android and iOS devices, Square Enix announced in a recent press release.
What's more, Square Enix is celebrating the release of FF8 on mobile with a special discount until April 4, 2021.
The game will normally cost roughly £15 ($20.99), but is discounted to around £12 ($16.99) while the launch promotion is running.
The eighth mainline installment in the foundational Final Fantasy series features yet another drastic narrative departure.
Where Final Fantasy 7 and its remake tell the story of a capitalist corporate powerhouse draining the planet of its vital energy, Final Fantasy 8 takes place in a futuristic setting.
Military students must fight to maintain peace in their homelands, but what starts as a seemingly simple story quickly becomes anything but ordinary.

Square Enix Releases Final Fantasy 8 Remastered on Mobile
Time travel, witches, chosen orphans — Final Fantasy 8 is a fantasy powerhouse.
Beyond that, it’s also a unique take on how Final Fantasy treats its characters.
Prior to FF8, Final Fantasy focuses almost entirely on the protagonist, but in FF8, Rinoa, Laguna, and even Seifer are just as important as hero Squall Leonheart and his trademark response "Whatever."
Fortunately, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered makes experiencing the game much easier.
In addition to improved character models and resolution, it includes quality of life features such as a speed boost, battle assist options to tweak the challenge level, and even an option to turn random encounters off.
