The Eternity's End PTR continues its testing period and as players get their hands on the new systems and content, we now know how flying will unlock once players reach Zereth Mortis in the final patch of the Shadowlands.
Flying sometimes is not released as part of a final patch of an expansion, but this time Blizzard has added the ability to fly in the new zone, which is quite large in scale compared to most other zones in World of Warcraft.
To unlock flying in Zereth Mortis, players will need to complete the Cyphers of the First Ones Achievement which requires researching the first talent of all four Cyphers of the First Ones system.
Based on the research times on the PTR currently, it will take a minimum of 15 days to unlock and 510 Cyphers of the First ones, a new currency added to upgrade this system.

Each of the four talents must be upgraded in order, and are only available after players complete chapter 3 of the Eternity's End Campaign. Here are all four upgrades and what each one takes to start:
- Metrial Understanding - 5 Cyphers of the First Ones (instant research time).
- Aealic Understanding - 45 Cyphers of the First Ones - 18 hours research time.
- Dealic Understanding - 200 Cyphers of the First Ones - 6 days 18 hours research time.
- Trebalim Understanding - 260 Cyphers of the First Ones - 6 days 18 hours research time.
There is no confirmation as of yet if this achievement is account-wide, but based on previous flying achievements and Blizzard's new account-wide alt friendliness we can assume it will be.
