The new map changes are always greatly anticipated in Fortnite, and this time it's no different. Aside from the map, there are new NPCs, weapons, vehicles, and more just waiting to be discovered. As players are excited to hear what's new in Fortnite, let's dive right in with a view of the new in-game map below.

It's exciting to learn that the map looks completely different from the Season 4 map, with a much larger snowy region. It's snowy right now with Winterfest 2023, but here's a clearer picture of the new regions where you can spot the biomes.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 map POIs

As you can see, there will be a variety of biomes to explore including forests, deserts, grasslands, and of course, the tundra. Here are the POIs that will be available in the new Fortnite map:

  • Rebel's Roost
  • Lavish Lair
  • Classy Courts
  • Ritzy Riviera
  • Reckless Railways
  • Grand Glacier
  • Ruined Reels
  • Pleasant Piazza
  • Fencing Fields
  • Hazy Hillside
  • Snooty Steppes

With the introduction of the Reckless Railways, it looks like trains will finally appear in the game as a mode of transport. Railroads are placed all over the map, ensuring that players can enjoy a new convenient mode of transportation to engage in strategic manoeuvres.

There's another mode of transportation that is newly available in Chapter 5, and that's the Grandeur Trailsmasher SUV. You can find spots on the map where the new vehicle will be parked, ready to be used by players looking to make a quick getaway.

Some NPCs will be revisiting Fortnite on the new map, and this includes Oscar, Nisha, Montague, Valeria, and Family Guy's Peter Griffin. As bosses, these characters will drop a Society Medallion which grants the user a regenerating buff to their shield. However, note that the wearer will be visible to other players on the map.

The island also features a new type of fruit called FlowBerries, which restores shields for you and your nearby teammates. Additionally, it grants a brief period of low-gravity jumping, preventing fall damage during its activation.
