Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 ushers in a wave of excitement with its intriguing theme and fresh map additions.
Among these additions, the Giant Turtle (aka the Great Turtle) is a peaceful, resource-filled landmark quickly winning over Fortnite players.
Here’s where you can find it and what to do once you're there.
Where to Find the Giant Turtle
The Giant Turtle can be found in the forest and swamp area northwest of the Lost Lake POI.
It is tucked between Whiffy Wharf and Flooded Frogs. The turtle's big, mossy shell stands out but blends in with its surroundings.
Players can glide west from Lost Lake after jumping from the Battle Bus to reach the turtle's back.
When you arrive at the Giant Turtle, you'll discover many rewards that make the trip worth it.
There are several chests on its back, one of them being the Elemental Chest, which can give you rare items like the Boon or Typhoon Blade.
You’ll also find Slurp Barrels scattered around to heal and boost shields, with a Sprite Shrine throwing in some magic.
You can quickly escape or reposition using the launch pad on the turtle's head.
These features make the turtle a prime spot for gearing up and gaining an early edge in the match.
There’s also an NPC named Ryuji that usually roams by the turtle, handing out items and sharing lore snippets.
This character has the Rare Oni Shotgun up for sale at 200 Gold.
The Legendary version is also unlocked if you've unlocked the Shotgun Expertise achievement.
The NPC shares details about the turtle’s background, revealing that it struggles with loneliness and is on a quest to find its lost love.
There are even hints about a connection to a sea serpent, sparking player speculation about potential ties to future updates or events.
The Giant Turtle does not engage in any gameplay mechanics beyond serving as a resource hub and lore element.
However, since Fortnite regularly updates its map and content, many players are guessing the turtle might play a more significant role as the season progresses.
Whether it's hidden secrets, quests, or story twists, it looks like something bigger is coming.
