May the 4th has arrived in the hit battle royale game, and as such players need to know how to unlock the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber in Fortnite. Each year, Epic Games adds themed content to celebrate all things Star Wars, and 2023 is no different.

How to unlock Jedi Padawan Lightsaber in Fortnite

To unlock the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber in Fortnite, you'll need to head to specific Force Rift Gates across the map. These were added as part of the Find the Force quests, and can be identified by the small Force logos added to your mini-map.

When you approach your chosen Rift Gate, you'll be greeted by an NPC. Fittingly, these are all Star Wars characters. Do note that to get the specific Jedi Padawan lightsaber, you'll need to find either Obi-Wan Kenobi or Anakin Skywalker.

When you've located a Rift Gate with a Jedi guarding it, simply interact and you'll be warped in. After a very brief cutscene, you'll re-emerge out of the portal with a new Force ability, and the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber. This weapon works identically to previous lightsabers added to Fortnite, letting you deflect incoming fire and slash at your enemies.

Of course, if you don't want to acquire the Jedi Padawan Lightsaber via this means, you can simply loot it from the body of a fallen enemy. That is, provided you can defeat them in the first place!
