First introduced in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7, Cosmic Chests are a rare type of chest that can only be found in Duos, Trios, or Squads. Inside is a wonderous variety of loot, with enough to satisfy each team member who participates in its opening. Included in Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 8, there is no telling if they will continue on into Fortnite Chapter 3, Season 1!
How to Unlock a Cosmic Chest
Unlocking a Cosmic Chest is a bit of a process.
First, a Cosmic Chest will only activate when all team members are within its vicinity. Then, players must take turns hitting weak spots until the gem around the chest cracks. At first, players will hit these spots one at a time, but eventually, the gem will require two or more players to hit spots in order to proceed in its opening.
Where to Find Cosmic Chests
Cosmic Chests can be found at random locations across the island. However, players should note that finding a Cosmic Chest won't be enough to unlock it as they will require their entire squad to be present in the vicinity.
What do Cosmic Chests contain?
Cosmic Chests contain high-quality look, including an Epic or Legendary weapon for each member of a team that helps open it.
