The Fortnite v28.20 patch notes are bound to contain a wealth of changes affecting various aspects of Epic Games' battle royale.

Despite changes to V-Bucks frustrating players dropping into the action, the v28.20 update is expected to contain all kinds of new content in addition to adjustments to make LEGO Fortnite, the battle royale, and Rocket Racing a smoother experience. The most notable new arrivals will be the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the latest crossover.

Fortnite February 7 downtime

Ahead of the v28.20 patch notes appearing, Fortnite will undergo a period of downtime on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 10AM GMT.

In most cases, the downtime lasts approximately three hours before the servers are switched back on and you can start earning Victory Royales once more.

Fortnite v28.20 update patch notes

So far, Epic Games has yet to reveal the full v28.20 patch notes, meaning we're still waiting on what the developer has changed and added to the game.

As soon as they appear, we'll be sure to update the guide with all of the changes. For now, here's a closer look at some of the content set to arrive.

TMNT crossover

Following an official announcement on February 2, 2024, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are on their way to Fortnite. Skins for each of the Turtles and Shredder are set to arrive in the Shop so expect to spend some V-Bucks for some fresh cosmetics.

Starting on February 9, expect themed quests and some TMNT-themed instruments to use in Fortnite Festival.

Story quests

Since the start of Chapter 5 Season 1, players have been hunting for Peely who's been kidnapped. So far, quests have included players familiarising themselves with new mechanics and the Society enemies dotted around the map.

New skins

Alongside new quests and crossovers, the v28.20 update will introduce a range of new skins that have been teased through various Icon Series emote teasers. This is bound to inject a breath of fresh air into the item shop.

New LEGO Fortnite weapons

LEGO Fortnite also has some new content. The Hunting Dagger is a brand-new weapon available to craft perfect for dealing huge amounts of damage to unsuspecting opponents.

Rocket Racing

Rocket Racing sees the arrival of a collaboration with McLaren, bringing in new car skins and a wealth of new items into the game. Additionally, there are two Advanced tracks to master and Smoke Trail colours to unlock by completing quests.
