Fortnite: What Is An OG Skin?

Fortnite wasn’t always a worldwide phenomenon that casually announces licensed characters every other day like it's not a thing, as the game was once a simple free-to-play shooter.

It is amazing to see how the game has evolved into a staple of pop culture and if it keeps going for a few more years, that scene in Avengers: Endgame will become scarily accurate, though you’d think that event with Thanos would be offensive to those that survived The Snap.

Fortnite: What is an OG Skin?

Anyway, before Thanos, Batman, The Mandalorian, and more joined the game, there were those nameless characters who had original skins that have since been called OG skins by longtime fans and newbies that have not been able to get them.

Skins like The Black Knight, Renegade Raider, and The Reaper are only some of the Fortnite OG skins, as the game had a ton of them back during its launch.

These OG skins aren’t impossible to get but considering how there are so many skins in the game now, you will probably ignore them for someone more popular like Kratos or Master Chief.

It is pretty cool to see this game get so popular that it can get console exclusive characters and make them available on systems you wouldn’t normally see them on, like the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.

You should still be able to get the Fortnite OG skins by saving up V-Bucks or getting a Battle Pass that will let players gain more in-game currency.

We’re sure that Epic Games will make them more readily available when an anniversary for Fortnite is planned, whenever that is, but players will be sure to snatch them up when they become available.

Fortnite is available right now as a free-to-play game with in-game purchases on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices.
