After suffering long server queues following the early launch of Final Fantasy XIV's latest expansion, Endwalker, Square Enix is giving away seven days of free game time to compensate.
Kotaku reports that XIV's director and producer, Naoki Yoshida, apologised in his latest blog post for "ongoing congestion" of players with early access to Endwalker, especially to those who tried accessing the expansion this weekend. Noting that "all Worlds across all regions" have been affected, Yoshida confirmed "progression of login queues is being slowed dramatically."

Square Enix Is Giving Final Fantasy XIV Players Free Game Time, Following Server Issues
Yoshida continued his statement by saying:
Considering that we are asking players to wait in queues for extremely long periods of time and the ongoing situation making it difficult to play normally, we have decided that during the official release of Endwalker on December 7, we will be granting 7 days of free game time to all players who own the full version of the game and have an active subscription. This also includes players who are currently playing on the 30-day free play period included when registering the full version of the game and those with multiple accounts.
Endwalker's early access launched last week for those who pre-ordered the expansion. The full version will be out tomorrow across PC, PS4 and PS5. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
