The Elden Ring: Nightreign's first Network Test encountered significant server issues, causing the game servers to overload for an hour and a half, resulting in a major setback to its three-hour stress test.
Players experienced failed login attempts, while others were suddenly disconnected mid-game. Notable streamers such as Maximilian_DOOD and ChaseTheBro had to wait more than an hour for the servers to come back online. Fortunately, after patiently waiting, they were able to re-enter the lands of Limveld, ready to face the Night.
FromSoftware has apologized for the issue, stating that additional work is currently being done to improve the stability of the Network Test. “An additional Network Test session is being considered,” FromSoftware added.

Although players were disappointed by the sudden server outage, most responded with humor, sharing jokes and memes across Elden Ring's official X (formerly Twitter) account and the Elden Ring subreddit. However, some expressed frustration, as the Network Test was seen as an escape from the dreaded Valentine’s Day.
This is Elden Ring: Nightreign’s first-ever Network Test, with more sessions scheduled through February 17.
Players who accessed this alternate Elden Ring world praised the game’s new mechanics, with many adjusting to the new controls, including the lack of fall damage and the use of Flasks.

Before being disconnected due to the outage, players enjoyed experimenting with the four different classes, particularly Wylder, Recluse, and the Duchess. Wylder's playstyle is reminiscent of Elden Ring’s Vagabond, Recluse is a mage-type character capable of casting powerful spells, and the Duchess has become a fan favorite due to her speed and ability to turn invisible.
As of now, no players have reached the third night or defeated the final boss, the Nightlord.
Overall, the server issues have proven to be a blessing in disguise for FromSoftware, as the Network Stress Test successfully identified critical issues. In the upcoming days of the Network Test, the team plans to roll out improved servers to prevent further outages.
