Pokémon GO Furfrou Forms - Every Regional Form and How to Change Them

Pokémon GO has finally added a form change mechanic, which debuts in the Fashion Week event as a part of the larger Season of Mischief. While not mischievous in itself, Pokémon fans are excited at the possibilities presented by the new ability.

Furfrou, the llama (or is it an alpaca?) Pokémon that debuted in Pokémon X & Y, is the first monster to get the form change treatment. There are currently 10 Furfrou forms in Pokémon GO, but we could see more being added as time goes on.

Here's everything you need to know about the Pokémon GO Furfrou forms, including which ones are regional exclusives, how much it costs to change, and what Pokémon could be due a form change in future.

What Are the Pokémon GO Furfrou Forms?

There are ten Furfrou forms currently in Pokémon GO:

  • Natural Form: Available in the wild globally
  • Matron Trim: Available as a form change globally
  • Dandy Trim: Available as a form change globally
  • Debutante Trim: Available as a form change in the Americas
  • Diamond Trim: Available as a form change in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
  • Star Trim: Available as a form change in the Asia-Pacific
  • La Reine Trim: Available as a form change in France
  • Kabuki Trim: Available as a form change in Japan
  • Pharaoh Trim: Available as a Form change in Egypt
  • Heart Trim: Stay tuned!

Players will have to travel the world to get all the different forms - unless you've got plane-hopping friends who are willing to trade.

We expect Heart Trim to be available either through friendship or as a part of a Valentine's event next year.

How to Change Furfrou Forms

Changing Furfrou forms is pretty simple. Furfrou has a button under the "Power Up" button, where the "Evolve" button would be on Pokémon that evolve.

Once you have clicked this, you can select which form you want - no Eeveelution RNG here! Confirm your choice and you're all set.

Furfrou costs 10,000 Stardust and 25 Candy to change form, but the change is permanent (unless you pay to change it again).

Other Pokémon With Forms

Pokémon players are speculating as to other Pokémon with different forms that could use the Furfrou method. Whether Niantic implements the mechanic retroactively, like it did with trade evolutions, remains to be seen, but that won't stop us from speculating.

Meloetta

With Meloetta also appearing in the Fashion Week event, could we be seeing the mythical Pokémon's Pirouette form appearing in Pokémon GO? It seems like a no-brainer, but it will likely cost more than 25 Candy and 10,000 Stardust to change.

Hoopa

Similarly to Meloetta, Hoopa's prevalence during the Season of Mischief makes it an obvious pick for the form change mechanic. Hoopa's Unbound form will likely arrive at some point this season, so save up that Candy to change it as soon as it becomes available.

Zacian and Zamazenta

Zacian and Zamazenta have been added to Pokémon GO recently, and the pair have alternate forms in Sword and Shield. Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta use items to transform in the main series games, but with no held items in Pokémon GO, they would be great options for Niantic to add the form change mechanic to.

Other Pokémon

Other Pokémon that have alternate forms in main series games include:

  • Primal Groudon and Kyogre
  • Deoxys (with multiple forms already in the game, this may not happen)
  • Rotom
  • Shaymin Sky Forme
  • Arceus
  • Darmanitan Zen Mode
  • Kyurem Black
  • Kyurem White
  • Keldeo Resolute Form
  • Aegislash (Shield Forme and Blade Forme)
  • Zygarde
  • Silvally (various RKS typings)
  • Alcremie (which has no fewer than 63 forms in the main series)
  • Kecleon (please, Niantic)

For now, it's just Furfrou forms that will be available in-game, but we can dream of more options now the mechanic is in the game.
