Looking to catch Galarian Zapdos in Pokemon GO? This Electric-type legendary first introduced in Pokémon Gold and Silver has been in GO for a while, but a new regional variant has just arrived. If you want to get your hands on it to show off this rare Pokédex entry, we're here to help.
In this Pokemon GO guide, we'll run through exactly how to catch Galarian Zapdos. We've also got information on its types, as well as when we expect it'll leave the wild.
Elsewhere, we've got plenty of other mobile guides to keep you busy. We've got a Genshin Impact tier list and AFK Arena tier list for two of the biggest gacha games on the market. That's on top of a YuGiOh Master Duels decks tier list, to give you the best cards to get started.
How Do I Get Galarian Zapdos in Pokemon GO?
As with the Galarian Articuno that is currently in Pokemon GO, the only way to get Galarian Zapdos is to catch it in the wild. As you may expect for an ultra-rare legendary variant, this is far easier said than done.
Namely, you'll need to equip a Daily Adventure Incense if you want any chance of catching Galarian Zapdos. The legendary only appears when that new item is active.
You receive one for free each day as you log in. However, it only lasts for 15 minutes as opposed to the usual 30 minutes for normal incenses, so your chances are fairly slim.
If you manage to encounter Galarian Zapdos with a Daily Adventure Incense active, tap on it to trigger the catch mechanic. The catch rate is fairly low, so stock up on berries and Ultra Balls for the best chance of getting it.
Things are pretty much as simple as that when it comes to catching Galarian Zapdos. Ensure you've got a Daily Adventure Incense active, and hope for some good luck so it pops up. The odds are stacked against you, but anything could crop up in the wild.
Pokemon GO Galarian Zapdos Spawn and Catch Rate
- Spawn Rate: Unknown
- Catch Rate: Around three percent
- Flee Rate: Around 90 percent (after a failed catch attempt)
There's no solid data regarding how common or rare Galarian Zapdos is in Pokemon GO just yet. It'll take some time for teams like Silph Road to gather the data necessary to say what they might be, as well.
Simply put, though, you'll need to get lucky with having Galarain Zapdos spawn. It' abysmally low catch rate means you'll likely fall victim to its abnormally high flee rate as well. It won't be easy.
What Type Is Galarian Zapdos
As with the regular Zapdos in Pokemon GO, this Galarian type is an Electric- and Flying-type legendary. It's also set to be very powerful due to its legendary status.
One thing you don't need to worry about is counters for Galarian Zapdos. While most legendary Pokémon tend to arrive through Raid battles, this specific example doesn't follow that rule. The only type you'll encounter it in battle is during the Great League, so the odds are fairly low.
How Long Will Galarian Zapdos Remain in Pokemon GO?
Equally, we don't yet know how long Galarian Zapdos will remain in Pokemon GO for.
It technically could stay in the wild forever, though the chances are it'll appear more frequently during this brief period where Daily Adventure Incenses are still fairly new. Expect there to be a period of a few weeks where the Galarian Zapdos appears more often in the wild, before becoming even tougher to catch.
That's it for our look at how to catch Galarian Zapdos in Pokemon GO. While you're here, feel free to also read our Wild Rift tier list for even more mobile goodness.
