It's an affordable way to access a wealth of gaming content, and next month, the line-up is set to get even bigger. New games on Xbox Game Pass for April 2023

As soon as Microsoft announces the full list of Game Pass titles for April 2023, we'll list them below. Until then, check out a more detailed look at some games already confirmed to arrive this month!

Ghostwire: Tokyo

Tango Gameworks, the studio behind the criminally underrated Evil Within series, initially released Ghostwire Tokyo back in 2022 as a PlayStation 5 and PC exclusive. Now, almost exactly a year later, the supernatural action-adventure is finally coming to Xbox as a part of the Game Pass library. The game received a bit of a mixed response when it launched, with reviewers complaining about a lack of polish and sluggish combat mechanics.

Fortunately, when the game launches on Game Pass, it comes complete with a new update that introduces a much-needed dodge ability, which promises to make combat more fluid and responsive.

You can battle the supernatural threats of Ghostwire: Tokyo when it comes to Game Pass on April 12.

Minecraft Legends

A spin-off from the best-selling video game in history, Minecraft Legends takes the iconic blocky world of its predecessor and transforms it into a real-time action-strategy game. In Minecraft Legends, players travel through different biomes while gathering materials, supporting allies, fighting off aggressive piglins, and building unique bases.

Developed by Mojang Games and Blackbird Interactive, Minecraft Legends comes to Game Pass on April 18.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox

Stylish 2D side-scroller The Last Case of Benedict Fox is described by developer Plot Twist as a “phantasmagorical Lovecraftian Metroidvania”. Players will “explore the memories of deceased victims, and battle demons, both real and figurative.”

The game takes place in 1925 and follows the eponymous Benedict Fox, a detective investigating a gorgeous yet terrifying mansion that is chock-full of demonic weirdos and occult strangeness. As Benedict, players will have to contend with these horrors, helped by Benedict’s own demon companion. Apart from Lovecraft, Plot Twist lists its inspirations as noir pulp fiction and 20th-century jazz music.

We're suckers for anything Lovecraft so we'll definitely be checking this out when it comes to Game Pass on April 27.

Homestead Arcana

Indie developer Serenity Forge’s Homestead Arcana is a whimsical farming game where players take control of a spell-wielding witch. Along with your feline familiar, you’re tasked with healing the land, which has been corrupted with “miasma”. The game’s Steam page tells us that along with farming, players will be able to partake in base-building and spell crafting.

There’s no definite release date yet for Homestead Arcana, but it’s been confirmed to be coming to Game Pass day-one sometime in April.

That's a wrap for April's Game Pass additions. Of course, as soon we know more, we'll update this hub. Until then, feel free to check out the best free RPG games you can play right now!
