With Coronavirus slowly on the way out (fingers crossed) the summer of 2021 seems hopeful for in-person events.
Hopefully this includes Gamescom which is expected to return, but not in the way you may expect...
Hybrid Event
As Gamecom is returning in august, and the Coronavirus situation is still ambiguos its unclear how the event will go ahead.
The organisers have decided to take an unauthodox approach and create a hybrid event.

This will feature both physical and online elements, which will combine to create this new kind of expereince.
What to Expect
The physical part of the hybrid show will limit the amount of visitors and attendees. However, these visitors will still be able to play all the new games in person.
Unfortuenatly, the rest of us will have to tune in online to get a look at the new games releasing next year.
It would be great to see the organisers introduce some sort of interaction with the online audience.
We also know Geoff Keighley will be hosting the event with lots of news and suprises on the way!
Official Launch Date
The official launch date for Gamescom is 24th August 2021.
