Gears of War 5 developer, The Coalition, released an update yesterday giving us more detail about when we can expect to hear more about their new competitive game mode, Versus.
On July 13th and 14th, the best Gears players from around the world will be competing at Turner Studios in Atlanta for the Gears Summer Series Tournament, ran by ELEAGUE. It’s during this event that the Coalition will reveal Versus “in style”.

If you can’t wait for the live reveal, you’ll be able to get a sneak peak of what ‘Versus’ entails in the fourth episode of the ELEAGUE Gears Summer that goes live today at 11PM Eastern Time / 8PM Pacific Time / 4AM British Summer Time on the Gears Twitch channel.
On top of watching top tier Gears gameplay, there is another incentive to watch the tournament. Players will be able to earn the Esports Krait appearance in-game and all they have to do is watch the show for 60 minutes on Live.Gearsofwar.com.

We’ve also been given a date on when the Technical Test will be and that is July 19th, 2019. We’ll hear more details such as how long will it run, how will we get it on tonight’s show.
When is the release date for Gears of War 5?
Gears of War will be released on September 10, 2019 on Xbox One and PC if Xbox continue their . If you’re subscribed to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, you’ll be able to get it four days earlier.

Gears of War 4 Ranked Season 7 Begins!
Ranked Season 7 for Gears of War 4 is here. Season 6 ranks have been reset and the season will last past the release of Gears 5. The months placement weapon skins are:
- Gnasher
- Markza
- Longshot
- Boltok
- Snub
Rewards for season 6 gears players will be able to claim their weapon skins once The Coalition have processed all the data. This includes the final Diamond Master Emblem for the very top players.
No doubt we'll hear more Gears of War 5 details at Gamescom.
