Let's take a look at everyone's favourite flame-throwing Genshin Impact fighter Diluc. He's a rare pull, but if you manage to get him, we suggest you try to get the best Diluc build.
What is the best build for the coveted hero? One of the first characters you encounter in Genshin Impact's story, Diluc is the owner and bartender of Angel’s Share tavern and the Dawn Winery in Monstadt: a rich nobleman by birth and descendant of Ragnvindr, the Dawn Knight. This stoic character also has an alter ego, a vigilante persona named “Darknight Hero”, the nocturnal guardian of the city. He's a Pyro elemental, and wields a claymore as weaponry.

How Do I Get Diluc in Genshin?
Diluc is obtainable by spending wishes in the Wanderlust Invocation standard banner. Good luck obtaining him!
Diluc hasn't had a banner rerun recently, but his new skin - Red Dead of Night - is available for purchase. The skin comes with its own story, and is featured in the Hidden Strife Event.
What Are the Best Diluc Builds?
Being a purely aggressive DPS, Diluc doesn’t have the versatility that other units such as Jean or Venti possess, so the approach to equipping him it’s pretty much straightforward. Our recommended builds will be pretty much the same with some variations on whether they emphasize boosting Pyro damage or raw Attack.
Below are two of the best Diluc builds right now. You can keep reading to find out the hows and whys of these particular Diluc builds, but if you've used him before, you'll quickly understand the thought process behind his best weapon and artifact choices.
Role | Best Weapon | Alternative Weapon | Best Artifacts | Alternative Artifacts |
---|---|---|---|---|
Pyro DPS Build | Wolf's Gravestone | Prototype Archaic | Crimson Witch of Flames (4 Pieces) | Gladiator's Finale (2 Pieces) & Crimson Witch of Flames (2 Pieces) |
Physical DPS Build | Song of Broken Pines | Wolf's Gravestone | Pale Flame (2 Pieces) & Bloodstained Chivalry (2 Pieces) | Gladiator's Finale (2 Pieces) & Bloodstained Chivalry (2 Pieces) |
Pure Pyro DPS
While Wolf’s Gravestone is the perfect choice for this build, it is also a difficult weapon to obtain, so as a great alternative you can craft Prototype Archaic. The Crimson Witch of Flames set not only gives a juicy 15% extra bonus on Pyro damage, but also boosts the Elemental Reactions related to Pyro. The cherry on top is the ability to boost its own 2 Piece effect every time we use an Elemental Skill. Simply the best choice.
Physical DPS Build
Weapons that boost physical damage are the only real good option for this build, which makes The Song of Broken Pines easily the best option for Diluc. You can also find a more affordable alternative that’s equally good in Wolf's Gravestone if you’re still don’t have the former. A 2-2 mixed set of Pale Flame and Bloodstained Chivalry is the best option for the same reason as the greatsword since Diluc needs as much Physical DMG as he can get.
What Are the Best Team Comps for Diluc?
On the battlefield, he’s a great Main DPS unit and a greatsword user that can hit heavily, making him a great asset for an offensive role. Bennett provides great elemental Resonance, with Xingquiu acting as the trigger for Elemental Reactions and Sucrose providing the needed support.
Character | Element |
---|---|
Diluc | Pyro |
Bennett | Pyro |
Sucrose | Anemo |
Xingqiu | Hydro |
What Are the Best Weapons for Diluc?
Weapons like Wolf's Gravestone that boost Attack or Song of the Broken Pines and its boost on Physical Damage are the only real good options for these builds. You can also find a more affordable and equally good alternative in the form of the Snow-Tombed Starsilver. Last but not least, if you’re looking for a craftable option, you can obtain the Prototype Archaic if you still don’t have any of the former.
Weapon | Rarity | Base Attack | Additional Stat | How to Obtain |
---|---|---|---|---|
Wolf's Gravestone | 5-Star | 46 | ATK 10.8% | Wishes |
