When will miHoYo add Genshin Impact Inazuma region to the game?
The answer is still rather vague at this point, though some new leaks suggest miHoYo is working on getting the region ready for a later update.
Inazuma probably won’t be ready for the Genshin Impact 1.5 update, which rumors indicate will take place around Mondstadt and Liyue as the previous updates have done.
It’s also too early to say whether Inazuma is a possibility for Genshin’s 1.6 updates, since beta testing hasn’t fully begun for that next update yet.
Or perhaps it has.
Established Genshin leaker Lumie recently posted a short video clip of the Traveler (that’s you) posing on an Electro screen and said Electro abilities are in the works.

Genshin Impact Inazuma Latest News
May 28 - 1.6 announcement
miHoYo revealed Genshin Impact 1.6, but Inazuma was nowhere to be seen - sort of. There is an introductory mission where the Traveler tries to sneak into Inazuma, but that's it for now.
We'll still be learning how to use boats, however.
When Will Genshin Impact Add the Inazuma Region?
That’s significant because the Traveler can initially only use Anemo abilities.
After arriving in Liyue, the Geo region, they acquire Geo abilities.
So it stands to reason if miHoYo is testing Electro abilities for the Traveler, Genshin Impact’s Inazuma update will happen possibly in 1.6 or soon after.
At the very least, we know Inazuma is coming in the next substantial update.
MihoYo released an update roadmap in 2020 with the region order, and Inazuma is after Liyue.
Hopefully when the time comes, we’ll have all the elements at our disposal as well.
Genshin Impact Electro Archon
Baal is the Electro Archon, and apparently she's not universally adored. Half the region opposes her plan to forcefully seize all Visions, and a resistance movement is organizing on one of Inazuma's main islands.
Genshin Impact Inazuma Screenshots
miHoYo has shared a few Inazuma screenshots with each new update announcement, and the 1.6 update is no different.
Serai Island
The storm surrounding Serai Island is said to be eternal. The island is the site where some kind of cataclysm occurred in the past.
Watatsumi Island
We'll likely be seeing a lot of Watatsumi Island whenever we finally get to explore Inazuma. It's at the opposite end of the region from Inazuma City, and it's also where the Sangonomiya Shrine is located, headquarters of the resistance movemet opposing the Electro Archon.
Narukami Island
Narukami Island houses the Grand Shrine shown above and Sacred Sakura, and it's also where Inazuma City is.
Tsurumi Island
Tsurumi Island has remained untouched by humans for years, and the fog that surrounds it seems perpetual.
Genshin Impact Inazuma Characters
So far, we know of at least two Inazuma characters. Kazuha is one, set to debut with the 1.6 update.
Ayaka is another, though we aren't sure when she'll arrive yet.
