It's fair to say that Kratos has come a long way since his goatee first graced the PlayStation 2. The series' most recent games have taken him on an emotional journey, however, and it culminates in Valhalla.
It's a real treat to experience the DLC's story, but if you're curious what shiny loot you'll get for beating the expansion, read on. In this guide, we'll reveal all rewards for beating God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla.

God of War Ragnarok Valhalla rewards
Beating the Valhalla storyline will reward you with a cosmetic that transforms Kratos into his younger self - goatee and all. You'll also get an armour set that resembles the outfit Kratos wore in the early God of War games.
Beyond the cosmetics, a familiar weapon arrives in the form of the Blade of Olympus fairly early on in Valhalla. You can use it to give your Spartan Rage more 'oomph', with a laser beam and some devastating attacks making short work of bosses. Parrying attacks will also extend your rage, so it's certainly a powerful choice.
These rewards can be carried over and used in the base game, too, though most are only available in new game plus. Follow the steps below to use each reward.
- For Kratos' younger look, press down on the right stick in your inventory menu.
- To use Kratos' classic Sparta armour, equip each piece like any other gear.
- The Blade of Olympus will be equipped when you rage after choosing the 'Legacy' option via the Spartan Rage selector near the gates of Valhalla.
- You may also need to grab it from a chest of lost items when returning to the base game.
If you're curious what else Valhalla has in store, we can tell you how long it takes to beat, provide a list of all the new bosses, and break down all of the new trophies.
