Remember Those Stolen Nvidia GPUs? They've Been Discovered in Vietnam

Last year, a truck full of RTX 30s was intercepted en route from San Francisco to California. While many thought that was the end of the story, a bizarre development has revealed what happened to some of those graphics cards.

As reported by VideoCardz, some cards have popped up on the opposite side of the world. A retailer located in Vietnam has gotten hold of some of the GPUs, which have an RRP ranging between $329.99 to $1959.99.

The seller has been distributing the units at a reduced price and comes with a limited 1-month warranty. Following this, they were discovered to be the same GPUs from the stolen shipment, after some buyers registered the serial numbers for these cards.

One particular user found trouble registering two Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti cards, as the digits matched some of the serial codes associated with the stolen GPUs.

This shortage of Nvidia cards is part of the wider supply issue occurring in recent times, with chip scarcities also impacting the supply of PS5s and Xbox Series X|S consoles globally. Because of these constraints, new-gen shortages are expected to last until 2023.
