GTA 6 Could Cost More Than $60 According To CEO

The rumours surrounding GTA 6 are going to continue for the next while, with GTA V announced for the PS5.

Although GTA V is releasing again, fans of the series are hopeful Rockstar will announce GTA 6 soon.

A few weeks ago we were all witnesses to the 'massive' GTA 6 map leak, which was the only bit of information we have seen thus far.

With fans hopeful more news is coming soon, a recent comment from the CEO of Take-Two Interactive has alluded to future games costing more.

Let's take a look!

 Call

Take-Two Interactive who is the parent company of Rockstar Games is one of the biggest corporations in modern gaming.

Bolstering the entire Rockstar Games lineup along with titles such as NBA 2K, and now there are rumors circulating they are in talks to purchase Codemasters; they are one of the driving forces behind gaming.

CEO and chairman of Take-Two Strauss Zelnick, was recently asked a flurry of questions from investors during a financial call.

One of the questions mentioned if they would ever consider selling their titles such as GTA for free.

The free-to-play model has rapidly evolved since the release of Fortnite back in 2017.

It seems that any battle royale will be successful to some degree as long as it is free-to-play.

Zelnick noted the following thanks to a report captures by VG247.com.

“We deliver the highest quality experiences in the business and we charge much less for them than we believe they’re worth to consumers,”

“And then we deliver typically an ongoing component that is free. And that’s already a great deal of value at any monetisation, of course, it’s totally optional.”

“I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that at some point, certain experiences can become free as a matter of the entry point,”

“I like what I consider ‘tethered’ free-to-play where 100% of the people acknowledge the value of the title and pay to play it. And on an ongoing basis, you have what is effectively a free-to-play experience attached to that can go on for many years. Grand Theft Auto Online, of course, has been successful for seven years and is expected to set a new record in this fiscal year, amazingly enough.”

So, it appears Take-Two could up the price of their future GTA releases.

This would not surprise us, as we know that NBA 2K21 is going to cost $10 USD more on next-gen consoles. Take-Two is also the only major company as of now to implement this practise.

We will have to wait and see later down the line!
