Rockstar has made waves with the GTA 6 trailer, and while the game isn't appearing on shelves until 2025, gamers are eager to hear details. This guide will let you know if GTA 6 will support cross platform play.

The industry's shift towards cross platform play has, generally speaking, been a positive one. A combined player base can keep a game's servers filled, and friends can squad up no matter their platform of choice. Best of all, players that hate the feature can always toggle it on or off.

For more GTA 6, we can tell you where the game takes place, reveal all of the game's confirmed voice actors, and provide a comprehensive breakdown of everything we learned from the first trailer.

Is Grand Theft Auto 6 cross platform?

At the time of writing, Rockstar Games has not confirmed or denied GTA 6's support for cross platform play.

We highly doubt the game will support cross platform play between PC and console players, however, as GTA 5's Online mode has infamously been full of cheaters on PC. Rockstar is undoubtedly working hard to prevent cheating in the new and improved GTA Online, but it's realistically only a matter of time before hackers find a way to cheat.

We recently learned that GTA 6 will be launching on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S, so it's entirely possible that console players will be able to enjoy GTA 6 together. Critics of the system often say that PC players have an advantage with mouse-based aiming, and keeping the feature between consoles would be a good way to avoid that.

We wouldn't recommend holding out too much hope for cross play, however, as the fifth Grand Theft Auto didn't support any kind of cross platform play.

That's all we can tell you about GTA 6's support for cross platform play. Before you go, find out how the developers felt about the trailer leaking early and learn more about the series' new protagonists. We've also speculated about the return of Tommy Vercetti, protagonist of GTA Vice City.
