The road to staying unfathomably rich in GTA Online is paved with dedicated crews and bizarre buddies relentlessly executing daring heists and dangerous sales missions that’ll maximise their revenue while they wait for GTA 6.

After all, it takes a certain kind of person to dedicate themselves fully to the solo grind, especially in the face of griefers using powerful vehicles like the Oppressor Mark 2 and Lazer jet.

Though, in the case of one unfortunate player, the biggest barrier to GTA prosperity isn’t via in-game threats, but, rather, the result of their slightly underpowered hardware.

Have you ever seen GTA 5 look this old school?

The output of this tortured machine is the subject of a recent thread in the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from its owner, user sny_tr, who shared an image of their rather blockily-textured version of GTA Online, captioning it: “Yes I play on PC, how'd you know?”

Some of their fellow players had some interesting suggestions for what the footage resembled, with user Loki_DdG asking: “You sure that's not Minecraft?”, LepermessiahXI wondering: “Is this GTA San Andreas?” and Funky-Donuts concluding: “This is definitely Crazy Taxi.”

Others chose to guess which device the game might actually be running on, with user Ricky-_-declaring: “PC? Nah homie this is the Gameboy Advance.”, VanettiNero suggesting: “PC? Nah bro, it’s probably (a) Samsung Smart Fridge.” and jtrom93 joking: “Cool, I didn’t know there was a port for the Atari 2600!”

Meanwhile, some suggested that the graphics were similar to those of the badly received Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy- Definitive Edition, which, in the eyes of many, looked worse than the original games upon its release last year.

Meanwhile, a few users reminisced about blazing through games on terrible hardware back in the day, with 4v3ngR saying: “Good old 800x600 resolution with a 1/2 scale pipeline and the no shadow hack. Reminds me of when I first got GTA5 and I played the entire story mode at the lowest settings.”

User Khomuna shared an even more challenging experience, saying: “(I) beat Crysis back in 2007 with similar settings. Had to play looking at the ground to maximise my 15 fps.”
