While some GTA Online players have reached the point at which they can retire and devote their time solely to playing tennis or working on an old car only to have it totalled by a careless NPC, a lot of Los Santos’ residents are still grinding away.

After all, the road to staying an unfathomably rich businessperson is paved with dedicated crews relentlessly executing heists and sales missions that’ll maximise their revenue.

Unfortunately, sometimes the best-laid plans of moguls and men can end up going awry, with goods failing to reach their destination and ending up scattered all over the city, as one poor soul on Reddit has found out.

Have you ever gone for a big sale and ended up losing it all?

The thread on this tragic event in the GTA Online subreddit began with a post from the players involved, interestingly named user H4CK3R_AXD12, who an image of the moment their precious cargo was confirmed as having been destroyed, captioning it: “No....my whole week of grinding…”

Some of their fellow players were quick to recommend leaving as fast as possible in a last-ditch attempt to undo the damage, with user Guy2ter saying: “I hope you closed the game as soon as you lost it,” and RickyTricky57 recommending: “Next time, leave the game as soon as you get griefed.”

Other users, such as HRMisHere, assumed the sale had gone awry because it took place in a public lobby featuring other players, suggesting that a solo lobby would be a better choice for next time.

However, user thomas2026 doubted whether griefing was even involved in the incident, theorising: “I think he just crashed the Titan. The NPCs send helicopters after you and damage it really quickly.”, a conclusion that ThachWeave agreed with, adding that being in a public lobby: “wouldn't matter if it was the ‘fly low in a Titan’ mission, which is basically impossible.”

Meanwhile, user Jenkitten165 noticed H4CK3R_AXD12’s Sprunk-themed outfit and implied a possible link between the incident and GTA Online’s ongoing cola-themed war, asking: “Was this a hit by ECola?”

A few of the other responses in the thread lent this unlikely idea some seemingly credence, with user Unfixedsnail saying: “You shouldn't have been sprunk” and KlassicNinja yelling: “CLASSIC ECOLA W.”
