Halo Infinite is fast approaching – but superfans may also have another Halo-related goody coming their way, as a brand new book called The Art of Halo Infinite is now available for pre-order.
Produced by Dark Horse Books, The Art of Halo Infinite features 200 pages of concept art from the upcoming Halo title – from weapons and vehicles to the new ring (which we now know is Zeta Halo).
Halo Infinite Setting Confirmed
The book is $40 and is set to release on December 29, 2020, according to an Amazon listing, which could be a placeholder until the game's release date is revealed. It seems unlikely Microsoft would miss out on prime shopping period of Black Friday!
Gamers got their first proper look at Microsoft’s latest Halo entry in July, during a detailed gameplay presentation. While the event was tied to the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal, Microsoft said post-event Halo was running on PC.
Despite graphical improvements such as Ray Tracing being clearly visible on the Master Chief’s suit, many fans were left somewhat underwhelmed by the game’s visuals.
A Brute, the large – gorilla-like enemies that regularly give the MC a hard time, was the focal point for a lot of criticism. Up close screengrabs revealed a lack of detail on the Brute’s face – with the poor creature’s ugly mug making its way on to Reddit in the form of multiple memes.
Still, it’s worth saying Halo Infinite isn’t finished yet – and anything like this could be due to the game being rough around the edges. It’s also worth saying that 343 Industries confirmed Ray Tracing will be coming to the game post-launch – so we may need to wait a little longer to see Halo Infinite’s true visual fidelity.
Halo Infinite is set to launch alongside the Xbox Series X sometime in Holiday 2020.
