Halo Infinite Will Be Set On Zeta Halo, And Here's Why That's Important

Halo Infinite, Microsoft's upcoming Xbox Series X launch title, will take place on Zeta Halo, 343 has confirmed.

Revealed in an interview with GamesRadar, studio head Chris Lee said confirmed fan expectations that the game would be set on Zeta, one of the remaining Halo rings.

Halo Infinite Setting Confirmed

Zeta Halo was the subject of a trilogy of novels about the Forerunners, longtime players in the Halo franchise. Humans were actually living on Zeta, as well as other wildlife (such as those seen in the original trailer), and Forerunner leader, Master Builder Faber, experimented on those poor souls in order to find a way to combat the Flood - the parasitic alien race that tends to get everywhere.

The gives ample opportunity to discover wildlife, hidden remains of humanity, and potentially quite spooky areas of the open world to uncover.

We'd recommend reading the rest of the interview, which also touches on the inclusion of upgrades and new equipment for Master Chief to uncover on the ring, as well as confirmation that Halo Infinite will be a platform going forward.

Halo Infinite is set to launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC later this year – coinciding with the Series X launch.
