Hellblade 2 could be the next Xbox Series exclusive making its way to the PlayStation 5 if the latest rumors can be believed. This would be an appropriate game to port over since Sony loves their cinematic titles. Only time will tell if these reports are true, but it would be a big get for Sony, given the game’s accolades.

According to Jez Corden (via VGC), PlayStation 5 fans should expect to get Ninja Theory’s cinematic hack-and-slash title soon. Interestingly enough, Corden claims this is more of a “when” rather than an “if,” showing plenty of confidence in the rumor. Fans should still take this with a pinch of salt, but it would be quite the game to get if it does come to PS5.

Fans can already enjoy the first game on PS5, so getting Hellblade 2 after some time only seems fair. If it does arrive on Sony’s current-gen system, players will be able to experience all of Senua’s story through both games. We also think that the game really suits PlayStation, since Sony loves to make cinema-like games and this would fit right in with that rhetoric.

While this is great news for PlayStation 5 fans, we imagine that Xbox Series owners are going to be disappointed. They are once again losing another major exclusive to Microsoft's rivals, assuming that this report is true. Games like Hi-Fi Rush and Cuphead have already made the jump, with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle also coming to PS5 fairly soon.

Sony fans should be happy that they might be getting Hellblade 2, as the game received plenty of great scores upon release. Many critics praised the story, even if the gameplay wasn’t exactly “fun” to participate in. Fans also appreciated how the devs were honest about this game’s length, with them saying it wouldn’t take a long time to beat.
