PlayStation Might Do the Unthinkable and Bring Helldivers 2 to Xbox

PlayStation might be bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox systems, given the success Microsoft has had in bringing their games to Sony and Nintendo consoles. While we don’t know if this deal will eventually be finalized, this would mean more players for the game and Sony making extra cash.

Nick "Shpeshal Nick" Baker of Xbox Era Podcast fame claims that Microsoft and Sony are in “preliminary talks” to bring the multiplayer shooter to Xbox systems. Baker has suggested that new PlayStation boss Hiroki Totoki might be a huge factor in bringing this game to Xbox Series systems.

You don’t see too many PlayStation exclusives coming to Xbox or Switch, so bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox Series systems would be huge. Xbox has already brought big-name games like Hi-Fi Rush and Sea of Thieves to PlayStation, so Sony should consider returning the favor and making more money out of it.

We aren’t kidding about Sony making more money out of this possible deal, as the shooter has already sold a ton on PC. This was the first time Sony had simultaneously released a game on PlayStation 5 and PC, which led to double the fans picking this up.

This gamble was worth it as Helldivers 2 sold consistently well for weeks, surprising everyone involved with how successful it has been. It helps that this is a game where most, if not all, of the microtransactions can be earned by simply playing and having fun.

Constant updates have helped the shooter maintain its image of being a quality game on both PlayStation 5 and PC. While there are a couple of annoyances that have bugged players, most will agree that this is an easy contender for this year’s best multiplayer title. Hopefully, this is a wakeup call for Sony and they start bringing more of their games to PC and maybe even Xbox.

Helldivers 2 is available now on PS5 and PC. Fans can also pick up the first Helldivers on both systems, though it is a dual-stick shooter.
