Helldivers 2 has endless hordes of relentless alien bugs called Terminids, and these hellish creatures will stop at nothing to destroy you. Your only choice is to strike before they do. Although they aren't as significant as some creatures, knowing how to beat Spore Spewers in Helldivers 2 can help you slip past their tactical cover and handle tougher enemies ahead of them.

Spore Spewers grant a strategic edge to their fellow Terminids that allows other bugs to stealthily navigate through the smoke without you realising. This, quite naturally, puts you in even more danger. These smoke-shelling giant bugs can be an easy target thanks to their gargantuan size, but they are not left completely unguarded. The smoke will only subside once you've successfully beaten the Spore Spewer, so until the beast is felled, visibility is going to be close to none.

Keep in mind that even if they pose a lesser threat, they should still be taken down with strategy and tactful flexes. So this guide will give you a rundown on how you can locate and defeat Spore Spewers without completely depleting your health. But while you're here, it's worth reading up on how to unlock Boosters, and learning what the best Ship Modules are.

How to beat Spore Spewers in Helldivers 2

Spore Spewers are large mushroom-like plants that emit toxic spores. They are not as beastly as other bugs that can tear you apart in seconds. You can easily destroy Spore Spewers with just about anything you have on hand, or at least if you rain down a barrage of bullets on them. They're often taken out quickly, sometimes even before you arrive from a previous mission. But they are dense enough to muddle your vision with their toxic spores, and this makes a fight with them a bit chaotic until you find your bearings.

You still don't want to go easy on Spore Spewers, especially considering how far their fog can stretch. You can locate them once you have scanned the small red indicators (red danger zone) nearby on your map. The marker will be square, and you'll know you've found your objective.

At times, these shambling beasts are either hiding behind a big rock or bunkering in a low spot where the fog covers them. You'll need to search around until you eventually find them, but Spore Spewers are only hard to approach because of their fog. So once in range, an explosive attack will easily take them down since they don't have much health. It only takes one or two shots from the breaker mags to destroy the spores, or you can also use a sniper rifle, so you can defeat Spore Spewers no matter what Helldivers 2 meta build you're running.

If you want to make sure those Spore Spewers don't stand a chance, employing a heavy support weapon like the Railgun could do the trick in just a few shots. There are some instances in which, since their spores can spread throughout your surroundings, they can obscure your map to the extent that you become lost in the middle of nowhere. If you find yourself in such a position, it's a good bet you're close to the Spore Spewer and you'll need to find your way out of that situation quickly.

So, with that sorted, you can now go back to the Galactic War map, and outsmart the Spore Spewers. Explore our additional Helldivers 2 guides to fight for Super Earth by learning how to farm Medals and how to use the Helldivers 2 flamethrower.
