In a move that confused a lot of gamers, Metal Gear Solid director Hideo Kojima tweeted out a PlayStation Studios image with Death Stranding as one of the featured titles, before clarifying that Kojima Productions is still independent. The move is an odd one, to say the least, since major game studio acquisitions continue to be a hot topic with gamers, especially after recent purchases from Sony and Microsoft.
On Twitter, Kojima did apologize for the misunderstanding but many are still unsure as to why the Metal Gear Solid boss would tease something like that as a joke. Some are speculating that Kojima was simply trolling, since game studio acquisitions are still a hot topic, as mentioned earlier, but this one may have gotten fans a bit too excited.

Kojima Productions Not Joining PlayStation Studios, Despite Hideo Kojima Tweet
Despite this, fans are looking forward to seeing what Kojima has planned since Death Stranding gained a solid following. While it didn’t impress with sales initially, some players do appreciate the story of Death Stranding and the struggles early gameplay sections made them go through.
Until Kojima Productions announces anything else, Death Stranding is their most recent game. It’s readily available on PS4, PS5, and PC.
