Hogwarts Legacy has finally announced its free Summer update, giving fans additional content in the game that adds a small bit of replayability to the mix. Potterheads hoping for a massive expansion might be disappointed, but those who just want some new cosmetics will have zero issues replaying this open-world title.
Announced on the game’s Twitter account, this new Summer update adds a number of new cosmetics and features to the open-world RPG. Fans will now be able to reset their Talent Points, wear Harry Potter’s glasses, cosplay as Azkaban prisoners, and more. It’s not the most in-depth update, but it’s free content after a year of release and that’s worth something.
Gamers won’t have to wait too long, as this Hogwarts Legacy update will be coming out next week on June 6. Technically, fans have waited over a year for small QoL features like Photo Mode, but it should be a decent refresh for anyone who hasn’t touched the game in a while.
Fans are still hoping for more interesting features that can be added in the future, as the wizard school sim is missing modes like New Game Plus. At this point, it seems like this game won’t be getting any major DLC down the line, so all fans can do is hope the sequel is in development.
When Hogwarts Legacy was announced, the title was swamped up in controversy as Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has consistently attacked transgender people. The author has been doing this for years and hasn’t stopped, which has divided the Potter fanbase. At the least, Rowling didn’t contribute to the game’s story, though the author does still benefit greatly from the game’s sales.
Various controversies aside, Hogwarts Legacy has proven to be a sales success multiple times. The game soared when it launched on current-gen consoles and was able to make more money after last-gen ports came out. Fans can pick up every version of this game now.
