How to upgrade gear and clothes in Hogwarts Legacy
If you want to upgrade your gear and clothes in Hogwarts Legacy, it's a very simple process. Just follow a few steps properly, and you'll be able to customise your gear in no time.
But first, you need to unlock some story quests. One of these is The Room of Requirement, which is a quest you can start by talking to Professor Weasley. The second is Deek's story quest, called The Elf, The Nab-Sack, and The Loom.

After you finish the second quest, you'll learn how to capture animals and conjure a device called Enchanting Loom. This device allows you to enchant your gear with magical animal material, to which you can add your traits.
As traits can also add special attributes to your gear, you should acquire them as well. These are found across your map in loot collection chests at Bandit Camps. With that, you'll be able to upgrade your gear and clothes using these materials and traits, using the Enchanting Loom.
