Helldivers 2 has a variety of weapons that you can use in battle to fight your enemies, but Stratagems are by far the most effective method of warfare, especially the Gatling Sentry. Knowing how to get and use the Gatling Sentry in Helldivers 2 will give you a significant advantage over your opponents, especially in defense.

The Gatling Sentry is a turret that you can summon to the battlefield with a special combination of moves, just like other Stratagems. This turret is extremely useful in specific situations, particularly when you are surrounded.

How to get the Gatling Sentry

Unlike some Stratagems which are locked behind grueling missions, the Gatling Sentry is readily available in the Ship Management menu under the Stratagem tab.

You can buy a turret at any time, provided you have 4,000 Requisition. Fortunately, it is budget-friendly, which makes it a fantastic investment, so if you don't know which Stratagem to buy next, choose this one, and we'll tell you why below.

How to use the Gatling Sentry

As with other Stratagems, in order to use Gatling Sentry, you will first need to summon it using a unique code: Down-Up-Right-Left

This way, you can summon the Gatling Sentry wherever and whenever you need it, and it will appear on the battlefield in three seconds. The use of this Stratagem is unlimited, but you won't be able to use the turret as often as you'd like, as there is a three-minute cooldown between each summon.

The best way to use the Gatling Sentry is in defensive missions, where you just need to stand and fight off enemies. The incredible rate of fire and decent damage output will quickly deal with even a crowd of enemies.

There is one drawback though, namely that you can get caught in a barrage of fire. The Gatling Sentry fires without a break, even when it turns, so friendly fire can be a problem for you and your teammates.
