Look for the Feature Update Notification
Before customizing your PS5 start-up, you should receive a notification on your console that you have a feature update ready to be installed.
Restart your PS5 and you'll notice that the start-up sound is now switched to that of the anniversary's Classic PlayStation start-up.
Take a few seconds to feel the rush of nostalgia (yes, we want you to enjoy the moment), and get ready to customize your PS5 Home Screen.
Choose Your Favorite PlayStation Console
Once you're logged back in your PlayStation profile, you'll notice a few new notifications informing you about the latest update.
You will then have the option to customize your Home Screen based on your favorite PlayStation consoles including PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
Go to Settings, and you'll see the Appearance and Sound option. For a limited time, you can switch to any of the available Anniversary themes by choosing the consoles on the drop-down menu.
Choose your preferred console and voilà, your PS5 now shows custom themes from the PlayStation 30th Anniversary.
2024 has had a rough year in gaming, but little things like this nostalgic theme from Sony somehow make the year a tad better. We're just hoping that 2025 is going to be a stronger year, with massive titles such as Monster Hunter Wilds and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on its way.
