How to upgrade and customise weapons in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
If you’ve got some weapons that are simply not doing enough damage for you, instead of tossing them aside, you can employ upgrades allowing them to stay with you for longer.
There are a couple of ways weapons can be upgraded in the game. The easiest way is by utilising the crafting mechanic, fortifying your gear to make it stronger. However, this does require you to head out into the wilderness and potentially scavenge for the required materials to get the job done.
The second way in which you can upgrade weapons is by applying mods. These mods add a bit of flair to each weapon and improve certain elements. For example, you can pick up a High-Capacity Magazine for the Assault Rifle which, as you would expect, increases magazine size and allows you to hold more bullets.
One caveat to this, however, is that certain mods need to be applied to weapons before other mods are added. So be sure to check the description of each before getting too excited at your prospective upgrades.
You can secure mods in a few different ways. You can scavenge for them out in the world, purchase them using Spare Parts at a vendor, or receive them as a quest completion bonus. Naturally, purchasing them is the easiest route, but this does require you to part with those precious Spare Parts.
Applying mods is very easy as you’ll need to simply head to the weapons screen where there should be mod slots you can utilise.
As for customisation, there are further options available to you. You can apply cosmetics, visuals, and accessories to your weapons, to make them unique to you and your Na'vi. While these don’t impact the performance of your gear, it’s always nice to try out a new skin or two.
To add these cosmetics, you’ll again have to be in the weapons screen and below the mods section, you should be able to see an option for Cosmetics. Here are all the visual tweaks you have at your disposal.
All in all, the weapon upgrading system in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is a relatively simplistic one that still offers enough variety to keep things interesting. If you follow our above tips on how to get the job done, you should have some solid weaponry at your disposal to get quests checked off speedily.
