Tents are the newest item in Fortnite. Introduced at the beginning of Chapter 3 Season 1, these tents can prove to be quite useful in Fortnite.
They've got some interesting new abilities, and can always affect your chances of winning the current game and the next, provided you know how to use them!
Here's everything we know about tents and how to use them in Fortnite Chapter 3!
How to use tents in Fortnite Chapter 3
First up, these tents are items that you can collect in Fortnite. They drop randomly, so you will need to have the RNG gods in your court in order to get your hands on them.
Once you've done so, you'll see that these tents take up one inventory worth of space. However, here's where the fun begins.
Once you've deployed the tent, you will see that there's more space for you to store your items. Initially, you will just have one slot unlocked within your tent, but you can spend gold to unlock more slots.
To top it off, every item that you store inside the tent will be available for you in the next round. So, technically, you can now carry over your loot into the next round in Fortnite. This adds a brand new dimension to the gameplay as a whole.
Oh and you can hide in it too. And while you're hidden, you'll be able to heal yourself as well. Just as it used to happen at any campsite. Although you can use it to get a jump on your opponents, they will hear a small audio cue which will tell them that the tent isn't empty!
That being said, there's a downside to this as well. Not just you, but your opponents will also be able to spot the tent once it's deployed.
No they won't be able to steal anything from it, which is a relief. But they'll be able to escape with the tent itself. It resets the loot inside the tent, yes but hey, now they have a tent and you don't!
The pros and cons aside, there's a week 6 challenge that needs you to hide in a tent. So once you've gotten yourself a tent in Fortnite, deploy it and go hide inside. This will help you complete the required challenge.
