2025 is shaping up to be a big year for Mojang Studios as the long-anticipated and talked about Minecraft movie is set to hit theaters this April.

To help hype up the film, an immersive and traveling Minecraft experience called Villager Rescue debuted a few months ago in Dallas, Texas. Now the traveling show is going overseas, bringing the show to another place outside of the U.S.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue Comes to London

According to VGC, the Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue is set to pitch their tent in London on the same day that A Minecraft Movie premieres, April 4. The event will take place in Corner Corner, a new multi-use venue located in Canada Water. Here’s the official announcement:

Villager Rescue promises a 45-minute journey into the world of Minecraft where players will be guided by new characters Tobin and Dayo, and taught to use the Orb of Interaction. The attraction is said to use massive LED walls with players being able to interact with several elements on the screen.

Here’s an official look at the experience when it launched a few months ago:

It’s also said that it’s not necessary to have any prior knowledge of Minecraft, and people can just jump into the experience completely fresh.

Head of franchise development at Mojang Kayleen Walters had this to say about the Minecraft Experience going to London: “After a successful debut in Dallas, TX this past autumn, we’re excited to bring our first-ever immersive touring Minecraft Experience to its next stop in London! We are thrilled to offer players and fans new ways to engage with the Minecraft brand starting this April,”

How Much Are the Tickets

General Admission for the event is going to cost £24, with children below 16 years old getting a discount at £20. Tickets go on sale on Feb. 14 next week, but there is already a waitlist for tickets open now, just in case anyone wants to make extra sure that they’re able to get a ticket.

Minecraft was originally launched back in 2009 and has steadily grown to be one of the best-selling video games of all time, selling over 300 million copies and having 170 million active players as late as 2024.

The game has managed to be available across platforms as generations jumped, starting out with the PS3 generation and eventually still being relevant in the PS5 era.

With the movie set to release soon, a lot of fans are expecting a huge boost for Minecraft come April. Besides landing Aquaman Jason Momoa, the franchise looks to be banking on the popularity of Jack Black, who has since starred in several successful video game titles including The Super Mario Bros. Movie and the Jumanji reboots.

Admittedly, there are already some fans who aren't fans of the hyper-realistic look of the film when it comes to the Overworld, but with enough charm and enough nostalgia-pandering, maybe A Minecraft movie will be able to replicate the runaway success of the Sonic the Hedgehog movies.

Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue opens in London on April 4, the same day as the premiere of A Minecraft Movie.
