Fishing in the enchanting world of Infinity Nikki lets you gather resources while soaking in the peaceful waters.
A bit of preparation is involved before you cast your line. This article will walk you through the basics of fishing and help you make the most of it.
How To Fish
Fishing is a peaceful pastime but takes more than just casting a rod.
You can access fishing after starting the main story quest, Unexplained Coma Incidents, in Chapter 1: Wishes Without Wings.
You encounter Timis, a merchant at the Daisy Inn in Florawish, during the quest.
Timis asks you to catch a Brushie fish, which allows you to craft the Rippling Serenity outfit.
Fishing can’t start without this outfit, as it enables the ability to fish.
To craft the Rippling Serenity outfit, you must first unlock its blueprint or sketch
in the Heart of Infinity menu.
To do this, you’ll need 3 Whimstars and 1,000 Bling.
You can monitor Whimstars with the Momo’s View feature in the game, while Bling is collected over time as you progress.
When the sketch is unlocked, you need to gather these materials:
- Daisies 5x
- Foodie Bee 1x
- Floof Yarn 1x
- Thread of Purity 72x
Once you have gathered all the materials, return to the Sketches menu. Select the Rippling Serenity outfit, gather what you need to craft, and equip it.
Once the outfit is ready, the fishing ability will be unlocked and can be added to the Ability Wheel for easy access.
After donning the Rippling Serenity outfit, head out to find fishing spots.
Fishing spots aren’t everywhere; search for ripples and fish swimming near the surface.
These ripples mark the active fishing areas where you can cast your line. Walk up to a fishing location and trigger the fishing ability.
Depending on your platform, the controls change—right-click on PC, Square on PlayStation, or X on Xbox.
After you cast, give it time for a fish to latch onto the bait. When a fish bites, a message like "Got a Bite!" will pop up with a fishing reel icon.
As you reel a fish, its stamina decreases, so monitor the bar above it. Pull your rod in the opposite direction of the fish’s movement to tire it out.
When the stamina depletes, hit the reel-in button quickly to pull the fish in.
Rare fish usually need several stamina depletions as their stamina replenishes while reeling them in.
Make sure the progress bar moves toward the left flag and prevent the fish from escaping to the right to catch it.
