Is Spider-Man Miles Morales coming to Xbox? Or is Marvel's Spider-Man series a PS4 and PS5 exclusive?

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales releases November 12, 2020, alongside the release of the PlayStation 5. Unless you're in Europe (BOOOO), in which case you'll have to wait another week to get your hands on the machine. Thanks, Sony...

The title follows on from 2018's incredible new IP from Insomniac Games, who has been better known for releasing the likes of Ratchet & Clank, Resistance and Sunset Overdrive.

Despite being wildly different from their past outings, you could argue that Marvel's Spider-Man shares a lot in common with Insomniac's previous IP. The action of Resistance, the traversal of Sunset and the heart/humour of Ratchet.

Regardless, the game proved hugely successful and as of July 28 earlier this year, the game had sold over 13.2 million units globally, making it the PS4's fastest-selling game. The critical consensus was also immensely positive too.

It's easy to see why Insomniac have doubled down with a quick turnaround to release Miles Morales as a standalone game.

We imagine it will share a lot of the same gameplay features as the original. It could equally be that this outing is very similar in size and scope as Uncharted: Lost Legacy

But if you're not a huge Sony fan, or maybe someone less attuned to the gaming industry, it's ok if you've been wondering if Insomniac's latest outing is coming to platforms outside of PlayStation.

Is 'Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales' coming to Xbox?

You can cross those fingers as much as you want, but it seems pretty much impossible that Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales (Or the original Marvel's Spider-Man) will come to Xbox at any point in the future.

For those who maybe don't know, most likely those who have straight-up googled this story, the Marvel's Spider-Man series is made by Insomniac Games who are a first-party studio of Sony PlayStation.

As such, pretty much anything they make is geared towards being a Sony PlayStation exclusive.

Though we have seen some Xbox games move to other platforms - most recently with Xbox Game Studios Ori and the Will of the Wisps coming to Nintendo Switch - Sony tends to keep their own games on their platforms.

In fact, we can't think of any Sony-published games off the top of our head that have ever come to Xbox ecosystem.

It's possible (though still unlikely) that we could see the game come to PC at some point in the future, but even then, that would be a pretty massive move on the part of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

So as it stands the only way for you to play the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, is on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
