Kim Kardashian: Hollywood was a pretty popular mobile game when it came out 10 years ago, even getting featured in the star’s reality show. But after a decade of being around, Kardashian has announced that the game will be removed from mobile stores forever.
TMZ released a statement from Kardashian, who thanked fans for their support over the past 10 years but will now be moving to different ventures. She also thanked the developers at Glu team for the support, saying this experience will stay with her forever.
“I’m so grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has loved and played Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in the past 10 years,” Kardashian said in her statement. “This journey has meant so much to me but I’ve realized that it’s time to focus that energy into other passions. I want to thank the Glu team and the many people behind the scenes who have worked diligently to make it a success. I will be forever inspired by this community that we built together.”
Kotaku confirmed that Kim Kardashian: Hollywood can no longer be searched for on mobile stores, so fans who never got to try it can't anymore. On the other hand, those gamers who still have the app will be able to use it and any virtual currency they have until April 8. After that date, fans will no longer be able to access the app.
While the death of mobile apps is no big deal, especially since they happen all the time, it is surprising seeing it happen to this. After all, the app was around for 10 years, so it must have been a lucrative app for Kardashian. Most gamers aren’t missing out on this, but we do feel for those who spend a decade on this app.
