Patch 10.16’s scheduled to go live in League of Legends on Wednesday, August 5, and it’s bringing a lot of little changes. Among them are new skins, loads of Champion tunings, and a nerf to the Nimbus Cloak rune.
“Nimbus Cloak has become the go-to for both jungle and [attack damage] as a consistent offensive and defensive tool,” the patch notes explain. “We’re lowering some of its overall strength, specifically in consideration of Smite and Hexflash, so that it’s not as ubiquitous of a choice.”
Summoner’s Rift
“On August 9 at 11:59 p.m. local time, the third and final ranked split of the season will begin, but with a little something extra this time,” Riot says in the patch 10.16 notes. “In addition to the usual split rewards, we’ll also be granting a random series-one Eternal capsule to anyone earning 750 Split points.”
Riot Games is taking the week of August 10 off, so patch 10.17—originally scheduled for August 19—is getting rolled into 10.18. (A small balancing update will take the place of 10.17.) You can probably expect the next full patch to hit around September 2.
Champion Tunings
A bunch of playable Champions are getting either buffed or nerfed in patch 10.16. The ones taking a hit this time around are Ashe, Bard, Karma, Karthus, Kha’Zix, Nautilus, Nocturne, Sett, Syndra, and Volibear.
However, almost twice as many Champions are receiving a buff: Akali, Evelynn, Fiora, Hecarim, Jax, Jhin, Jinx, Lucian, Miss Fortune, Morgana, Neeko, Rakan, Skarner, Tristana, Veigar, Yasuo, and Ziggs.
Yone, New Skins, and More
The new Champion—Yone, the Unforgotten—and a number of skins will be going live August 6. The new skins are Spirit Blossom Riven, Spirit Blossom Cassiopeia, Spirit Blossom Ahri, Spirit Blossom Kindred, and Spirit Blossom Yone.
