Breakdown

  • Lego Fortnite will introduce a new island called Star Wars island
  • Players will have to help the Rebels in their battle against the Empire
  • The new Lego Pass will give rewards such as a Chewbacca skin and Star Wars-themed builds

Epic Games has revealed everything players can expect from the yearly Star Wars x Fortnite collaboration this upcoming May 3, which will be bigger than previous years as all main modes will be part of the festivities, including battle royale, Lego Fortnite, and Fortnite Festival.

On top of the classic content battle royale players are used to, like new skins with Chewbacca, Lando, and a Dagobah Luke outfit coming to the game this time around, the most interesting reveal is tied to Lego Fortnite, the Minecraft-esque exploration and survival game.

In fact, the Lego Fortnite portion of the collaboration is so massive it got its own blog post, with Epic explaining that players will be able to join the Rebel forces and stand together against the Empire.

Lego Lightsabers and more weapons are coming

Players will travel to a brand-new Lego island, aptly called Star Wars island, and investigate an Empire crash site for potential threats. At the same time, you'll have to aid the Rebel forces by levelling up the Rebel Village and helping them stop the looming threat of an Empire that wishes to seize control of your island.

There will be a slew of Star Wars-themed weapons and tools to help you fight back and rebuild the Rebel Village such as the classic lightsabers, bowcasters, the DL-44 blaster, and more.

Of course, the update will bring new villagers that will populate the Rebel Village. What's exciting about this crossover is that it's not a time-gated event, meaning that everything Star Wars-related will remain even after the event ends.

Yes, Lego Fortnite has a battle pass

That includes the Empire landmarks, which you can choose to destroy or keep as a neat biome in the background. The one thing that needs to be finished in a set amount of time is the new Rebel Adventure Lego Pass, which includes the Chewbacca skin as an immediate unlock and some very cool rewards like Mos Eisley Marketplace Build as a free reward or the Dusty Durrr Burger Build in the premium track.

Stick around as we'll be bringing tons of Fortnite x Star Wars content in the coming days so you don't miss out on the content overload players will be getting with this collab.
