PlayStation’s iconic exclusive franchise Horizon is making the jump to the world of LEGO video games in a weird new twist. Following Horizon: Zero Dawn, Forbidden West and Call of the Mountain, Aloy’s next adventure sees her traveling through a blocky world in LEGO Horizon Adventures.
Announced during Summer Game Fest 2024, LEGO Horizon Adventures isn’t just coming to PlayStation 5, but also PC and Nintendo Switch. That’s right, a game in PlayStation’s exclusive Horizon series is actually launching on a rival console platform.
Curiously, the upcoming LEGO PlayStation game will release on PC and Switch, but not Sony’s biggest rival: Xbox. Despite massive Xbox exclusives such as Sea of Thieves making the jump to PlayStation consoles, Sony’s console brand still isn’t willing to release games on Xbox machines.
"In a distant future, the land is made of LEGO bricks and incredible dinosaur-like machines roam the Earth," reads the game's synopsis. "One day, Aloy embarks on a quest to discover her true destiny. There’s much more in store for Aloy and her friends, as their adventure sends them across the tallest mountains and deepest cauldrons — all beautifully recreated in LEGO elements."
LEGO Horizon Adventures has been created with two player action in mind, supporting both couch and online co-op across its entire adventure. On PC, LEGO Horizon will launch on both Steam and the Epic Games Store, just like Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part 1.
At the time of writing, no specific LEGO Horizon Adventures release date has been announced. However, the game is scheduled to release sometime in Fall 2024 for all available platforms.
